Commenting

Posted by TruthCures on November 11, 2006

I have been going through Blogs kept by Maldivians through the MVBlogs Directory. I have come across some interesting posts, both in WordPress and Blogspot and also on personal websites.

Many of these blogs require me to login to leave a comment. I think this is counter-productive. I do agree with moderating comments to weed out spam or offensive content. But Bloggers need to realise that a lot of people who have WordPress blogs might want to comment on a Blogger blog and vice versa. And not all will have accounts in both sites.

:) Well, that’s not really fair on Blogger users. We cannot demand or expect such monopoly. Blogger has it’s own merits as does WordPress.com. The solution is simple. Users need to allow comments to be made freely.

Logging in to comment is a hindrance for the commenting users.
